Bike Rack Install Information
Notice different ways to install bike racks on cars. Pick the
one right for you.
Ball Mount=fastened by a hitch ball or bolt kit.
(below right)
Towing bike rack= special 2" receiver
bike rack that allows you to hook up a small trailer behind your bike
rack. With
the addition of your tow ball, the user may tow up to 3000 lbs (300 lb tongue
wt). 4 bikes rack only. (above left picture)
1-1/4" receiver=class I-II. Your vehicle has a
1-1/4" square steel hole in the back to insert this size rack.
2" receiver=class III-IV. Your vehicle has a
2" square steel hole in the back to insert this size rack.
Spare Tire mount bike rack= comes with 2.5"
backing plate that mounts on your vehicle spare tire bracket. 1" bracket
for Honda CRV and space saver tires & 5" bracket for extra wide
tires. Just note the year, make, model of your vehicle in the comments
section of the order form and we will get you the correct bracket. (Note
for Tire Mount Applications for small and midsized SUVs. As general rule
you should check with manuf. to see if your spare tire mount is strong enough to
hold the weight of rack & bikes. Suzuki
or GM equivalent and some Isuzu Troopers should not use spare tire mount,
may cause door damage due to weight.)
Trunk mount bike rack= bike rack sits on trunk and six
straps with coated steel hooks mount on trunk edges.
Other features:
Fold Down Bike Rack=folds down to 45 degree angle to allow access to the rear of
the vehicle.
Deep V Channels, grooved vinyl to position cables so as not to
scratch bike finish. 50% wider and deeper.
Extra wide channel spacing for each bike is now 6" for easier loading.
Much better that any other brand.
