Car Top Carrier StrapRight System
The smart & safe way to attach car top
carriers.
StrapRight (TM) consists
of 4 pairs of ultra strong, ultra tough nylon webbing straps, designed for easy
use on just about any vehicle.
Each pair consists of one long and one short strap. One has a buckle
(ladder lock) end, the other is simply straight. Both straps have a loop at the
end. You simply place this
loop behind your luggage rack bar and pull the long end through. See the
picture below.

Attach each strap to the luggage rack on opposite sides. You will use
at least two sets of straps, side to side or front to back. If you have a
four bar rack use all four sets. Use the strap adjustments to position the
buckle where you need it. Run the straps through the "D" rings,
handles, or strap guides on your CTC. Make sure each set of
straps are spaced at least 20" apart.
Fasten the straps using the buckle (ladder lock). See the diagram below.

Here is what it should look like when you are finished.
You may only use two sets if you have a two bar luggage rack.

Make sure the straps are snug. Give them a good tug with
your hand. Wrap up or tuck away any excess length of strap. Don't
let it flap in the wind. Test drive your load around the
neighborhood. Always check your straps during your trip.
StrapRight straps come with the buckles and adjustors ready to
go. You may simply adjust them to change the length of the strap. Do
not remove any buckles. Leave at least 3 inches of strap at the end
through the adjustor so it won't slip off. Re rigging the buckles, or
installing them incorrectly may cause your load to loosen or fall off.
They work properly as installed.
StrapRight Special Features:
No luggage rack? Option One:
Notice the end loops are made with a buckle and not sewn. If you don't
have a luggage rack you can put car clips on these straps. Read
about car clips here.
No luggage rack? Option Two: If you
can't or don't want to use car clips, you can attach two StrapRight straps
together and make a long one. Simply insert one loop through the other and
pull the long end through. Make sure one end has the buckle. Open
your car doors (duh), wrap the long StrapRight through your car and over top of
PP, and buckle it! Do this at least twice, through the front and back
doors. Make sure there is at least 20" of space between the two.
Extra gear (skis maybe?): With Piggy Pack
Classic and PP Sport & two RoadMasters, you can place long objects on top of the packed CTC.
Run StrapRight over the entire load and strap it down. TEST this very
carefully before you take off. Make sure your items are wrapped carefully
and won't rub a hole in Piggy Pack.
Strapping Tips:
1. Use the adjustments on the loops and buckle so you can position the
buckle where it's convenient for you. Once you are set, it's easier the
next time.
2. Always wrap up excess strap or tie it off secure. Don't let it
flap in the wind. If you are sure about your adjustments and lengths, you
can cut it shorter (cut at angle) and melt the end. These straps are made
extra long for any vehicle, you probably will want to make them shorter (but
remember you can't return PP after straps are cut, so be sure).
3. RoadMaster CTC. If you use one RoadMaster CTC, run the strap through
and around the handle (maybe knot it) before you buckle. This fastens
RoadMaster in a straight position and won't let it slide crooked while you drive.
4. Don't strap so tight your luggage bars bend or they become piano
wire tight. Straps that are too tight could rub a hold in your CTC.
"Firm" is the good word when it comes to straps.
