Order the Classic for $109 includes shipping: Material: Pack-Right Classic is made with the finest materials and highest quality craftsmanship. The material is Hydro-Tuff, polyester with vinyl backing. Water does not permeate the fabric & it does not fade in the sun. It's like a very heavy duty back-pack material. Size: Pack-Right Classic is approximately 18" high, 37" wide, and 42" long when sealed. Since the closure "folds shut," the length varies based on the load. It holds up to 16 cubic feet, or about the size of an average car trunk. Piggy Pack folds smaller than one cubic foot. Weight: 8 lbs Color Black StrapRight Strapping System: You will receive 4 sets of straps. This will allow you to attach Classic on 2 or 4 bar luggage racks. If you don't have a luggage rack, you have two options. 1) Buy car clips and put them on the straps. You must read about car clips here to see if they work on your car. 2) You can attach two strap sets together and make very long straps and run them complete through your car and overtop of the car top carrier. We have a page dedicated to StrapRight and how to use them; click here. Fold/Bend/Buckle closure: This patented closing gives Classic it's flexibility. Other CTCs half full cause problems. With PP Classic first you match up the Velcro around the opening and sides. Then you roll down the open end until your gear is snug (like after you eat half a bag of potato chips and roll it down). The roll keeps water out. You bend the ends of the roll together and buckle our giant side-release buckle to hold the folds in place.

Pack-Right Classic is made of material that is waterproof, and the sealing system (the way the bag closes) is waterproof too. However, PP is one huge piece of material, folded over, with a double stitched side seam. This makes it very strong. The single side seam makes the Classic like a boat on the roof of your car. A very effective design (US Patent). For total water protection you can pack your stuff in garbage bags, then pack them inside the Classic. This is semi effective. The BEST solution, buy a Pack-Right liner. The liner isn't subject to the DRIVING rain. Piggy Pack is the protective outer shell that's exposed to the terrible weather forces. If a little bit of water does seep in, it doesn't touch your gear inside the liner. The liner is made of rugged nylon with sealed seams like a tent rain cover. With a Pack-Right Liner, your gear will always be dry, in any weather condition. The liner fits inside PP like one grocery sack inside another.
